INTRODUCE ABOUT DONG HOI
Dong Hoi is quieter and smaller than Vietnam’s big cities, and crime rates are low. Solo travelers – even women – generally feel very safe here. Locals are helpful and not pushy. As always, use common sense: keep an eye on your belongings in touristy spots, and use only licensed taxis with meters. Night travel is okay on lit streets. Street harassment is rare. Overall, I found Dong Hoi to be a very relaxed place to explore.
Travel bloggers call it a “hidden gem” with beautiful beaches and a calm atmosphere. It’s often skipped by tourists, so you get an authentic experience. Dong Hoi offers both relaxation (quiet coastal walks) and history (war relics and pagodas) that you won’t find in busier cities.
SCHEDULE
- Afternoon 13h00: the tour guide of Dai Moc Travel with the car/motorbike (the guest chose) pick you up at the meeting point to depart for Dong Hoi city tour with 1/2 day tour. The delegation offered incense to pray for luck at Dai Giac pagoda/ visit Quang Binh museum.
You continue to offer incense at the Mother Sut Statue. The resilient mother did not care about bombs falling or exploding, day and night transporting troops and goods across the Nhat Le River during the years of resistance against the US.
Delegation to visit Dong Hoi citadel to take pictures. As a historical site dating back to the 17th century, famous for the battles inside and outside between the two dynasties of Trinh Nguyen, the delegation stopped to take pictures at Quang Binh Quan, the symbol of Quang Binh province.
After that, the group will stop to visit Tam Toa church. A war relic is located on the banks of the poetic Nhat Le river. You visit two famous beaches in Quang Binh: Nhat Le beach and Bao Ninh beach and have a special snack in Dong Hoi.
15h30: After resting to watch the sea, the next destination of the journey is Quang Phu sand dune, you can visit, take photos and experience an interesting sand-sliding game.
